One Key Rewards is Expedia Group’s loyalty programme, originally launched in mid-2023 to unify Expedia, Hotels.com, and Vrbo into one earn-and-redeem ecosystem. In 2026, **Hotels.com officially broke away from One Key** and returned to its traditional 10-stamp rewards model (stay 10 eligible nights, earn one free night at average rate). This makes One Key in 2026 a TWO-brand programme: Expedia + Vrbo.
Membership is free with three elite tiers based on “trip elements” completed in a calendar year:
– **Silver** — 5 trip elements: 15% discount at select hotels, 50% OneKeyCash bonus at VIP Access properties
– **Gold** — 15 trip elements: 20% discount at select hotels, 2x OneKeyCash at VIP Access, Price Drop Protection on eligible flights
– **Platinum** — 30 trip elements: 3x OneKeyCash at VIP Access plus all Gold benefits
Earning rate is asymmetric across categories. Hotels, vacation rentals, activities, packages, car rentals, and cruises earn approximately **2% OneKeyCash** per dollar spent (1 OneKeyCash = US$1 redemption value). Eligible flights earn only **0.2%** — a deliberately weak return that pushes members toward hotel and rental bookings.
Member-only pricing is the programme’s quieter advantage: signed-in One Key members see exclusive discounted rates on over 100,000 hotels worldwide, typically 10% or more off the public price. These rates are usually visible only after sign-in. For travellers who book through Expedia or Vrbo more than twice a year, the combination of OneKeyCash earning plus member pricing makes free membership a clear net positive — even without ever reaching Silver tier.
