How We Choose What to Write

Most content sites start with a keyword tool and work backwards. We do the opposite.

We built a proprietary signal analysis system that monitors real-world trends, search patterns, product launches, news cycles, and community discussions across multiple data sources. When a topic shows genuine demand — people actually searching for answers — our system flags it.

But demand alone is not enough. Every topic goes through a qualification process before we write a single word:

  • Is there real search demand? Not manufactured, not trending for a day. Sustained interest from real people looking for real answers.
  • Can we add genuine value? If the top 10 results already answer the question perfectly, we skip it. We only write when we can bring something new — personal experience, better comparisons, clearer explanations, or a perspective nobody else has.
  • Does it fit our content standards? No news, no gossip, no opinion pieces, no medical advice. Practical, useful, problem-solving content only.
  • Is the information reliable? We research thoroughly, verify key facts and prices, and link to official sources wherever possible so readers can check for themselves.

How We Write

Every article follows a structured writing framework that prioritises the reader over search engines. The framework has three core principles:

1. Answer First, Explain Later

If you searched for “how to survive a power outage,” you need the answer immediately — not a 500-word history of electrical grids. Our articles put the answer in the first 20% of the content. Background and context come after.

2. Real Experience Over Generic Advice

We write from lived experience wherever possible. Our survival guides come from someone who has actually lived through floods and power outages. Our product comparisons come from research, testing, and real-world usage — not rewritten spec sheets.

When we do not have personal experience with a topic, we say so. We never fabricate stories or invent expertise we do not have.

3. Depth That Respects Your Time

Every section in every article must pass what we call the “So What?” test. If a section does not teach you something you could not find in a 5-second search, it gets cut. No filler. No padding. No word count targets at the expense of quality.

How We Handle Product Recommendations

When we recommend products, we follow these rules:

  • We disclose affiliate relationships. Some links earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. This is clearly stated on every relevant page and in our Affiliate Disclosure.
  • Commissions never influence rankings. A product that pays a higher commission does not get a better recommendation. If the best option has no affiliate program, we still recommend it.
  • Prices are always approximate. Product pricing changes constantly. We include prices for reference but always recommend verifying current pricing before purchasing.
  • We include budget options. Not everyone has the same budget. Every comparison includes options across price ranges.

How We Maintain Quality

Every article goes through a multi-step quality process before publishing:

  1. Research and signal validation — Topic confirmed through our proprietary analysis system
  2. Writing against our framework — Structure, voice, and depth standards applied during writing
  3. SEO and readability check — Technical SEO metadata, keyword placement, and readability verified
  4. Fact checking — Key claims, statistics, and prices researched and verified. Links to official sources included so readers can verify independently
  5. Human review — Final proofread by the author before publishing
  6. Post-publish monitoring — We track whether our content actually helps readers and update articles when information changes

What We Will Never Do

  • Publish medical advice or health diagnoses
  • Fabricate personal experience or expertise
  • Prioritise affiliate revenue over honest recommendations
  • Publish content that exists only to rank for keywords
  • Copy or rewrite content from other sites
  • Use clickbait headlines that misrepresent the content
